Access to Raw Data

One of the major goals of IllinoisTrack.us is to make Illinois government data available to anyone who's interested, in machine readable formats. To that end, all of the Illinois General Assembly (ILGA) data in our database is made available in XML. You can access all of this data at:

http://data.illinoistrack.us/ILGA/

and under that are the directories:

billstatus/
committees/
members/


For example, you can view the status XML for House Bill 210 from the 96th General Assembly at:

http://data.illinoistrack.us/ILGA/96/billstatus/GA96HB210.xml

Please be courteous when you access these files. There is no need to download the entire database every few minutes. The whole set is updated approximately every 4 hours, and the directory is browsable, so it shows when each file was updated. The best strategy would be to download only those files that have been changed since you last looked, and no more than a few hundred at a time. Please don't use up all my bandwidth!
